Ryan D. Williamson is an Assistant Professor of political science at the University of Wyoming. He received his doctorate from the University of Georgia and his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Before joining the faculty at UW, he served as an APSA Congressional Fellow in the US Senate Committee on Rules and Administration and as a governance fellow with the R Street Institute. His research focuses on American politics, with a particular emphasis on elections, legislative politics, and institutional development. He has published articles in journals such as the Journal of Politics, Political Research Quarterly, State Politics & Policy Quarterly, and Electoral Studies. He has also recently published a book, Nationalized Politics, with Oxford University Press.
